Formby Holy Trinity Sports Club Minutes of Annual General Meeting
Friday 17th April 2015
Welcome and Apologies
The Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting. Club members
were asked to remember Reg Warren who had passed away since the last AGM.
There were 18 apologies with 40 members present.
Minutes of AGM 2014
The minutes were accepted by the members present and signed by the Chairman.
Chairman’s Report
Brian Young read his report, hard copy available. Brian then took some questions from the floor, his main point was that the lease had yet to be signed but he has now had a verbal agreement from the Church that terms have been agreed; he also put on record
his thanks to John Langton who has helped in the lease preparation process.
The rent for 2014
On questions Brian was asked if there would be an EGM for members to approve the lease terms when a written document had been received, he said it would be up to the committee and their representatives to agree this.
On the spare land, Sefton Council have not agreed to any changes to our current deal, although we are trying to get agreement to purchase, it was recognised that in 2017 that the land could be up for housing.
Brian also confirmed that all monies from the sections are part of the Sports Club assets.
Treasurers Report
Ian read the report after copies of the up to date financial statements had been given to all those present. The point was raised that there was not a sheet showing Sports Club income. The Secretary was asked to send this to committee members for further distribution.

From the floor noted that the accountants fee was higher than last year, the treasurer said he would monitor this for 2015.

The following were nominated and unanimously elected.
Chair: Brian Young
Deputy Chair: John Langton
Secretary: Ken Phillips
Asst. Secretary: Shirley Harnden
Treasurer: Stan Chaplin
Election of Committee Members
Jeanette Heague, Roger Hills and Les Walker were elected, leaving just one vacancy.
Hastings and Humphries were elected as accountants. Proposed by Brian Lawton and seconded by Jim Smith.
Determination of subscription for 2016
Ian proposed the Sports Club subscription for 2016 to be increased from £61 to £63, a £2 increase and this was agreed by the majority.
Special Resolutions
There was one from the snooker section to explore the possibility of purchasing the land of the Sports Club from the Diocese (Holy Trinity Church, Formby). After debate this resolution was accepted.
